Based in Mumbai, Axis Bank is one of the top five private banks in India. As of 31 March 2023, the bank had a network of 4,910 branches (including seven overseas), 15,953 ATMs (including one at Thegu in Sikkim at a height of 4,023 meters above sea level) and cash recyclers. In the financial year ending March 2023, Axis Bank acquired Citibank India\'s consumer business for Rs 11,949 crore and it gave Axis an immediate jump of 55 percent in credit card loans and improved its market share in credit cards in India by 450 basis points to 16.3 percent. It\'s subsidiaries include Axis Mutual Fund, Axis Pension Fund, Axis Securities, Max Life Insurance and fintech platform Freecharge, among others.
