Infosys co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan on Thursday said the number of startups from deep tech space is increasing in the country.

The Infosys Science Awards were institutionalised with the purpose of recognising research work that can make an impact on the world. India spends less than one percent of its gross domestic product (GDP) on research and development (R&D), while South Korea spends over 4 percent and China a little over 2 percent.
