Meanwhile, the New York Times reported that at least 50 people are feared dead after a massive fire broke out at an apartment building in Vietnam’s capital, Hanoi.
The NYT report cited another report as saying that Hanoi officials announced the figure, which includes dead and injured, hours after the blaze in a central district of the capital.
However, exact death toll was not immediately clear.
A fire broke out at a nine-story apartment tower in Hanoi, Vietnam, on Tuesday night.
Earlier, news agency AFP cited state media as saying that dozens of people died after a fire broke at Vietnam apartment block early Wednesday. "The authorities have rescued about 70 people, rushing to hospital 54 people, including dozens of dead," the official Vietnam News Agency said.
The fire is believed to have started late Tuesday and 54 of the 70 people who were rescued from the building were hospitalized with injuries, the report said.
The fire has been extinguished but rescue operations are continuing.
