UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron to visit US to reaffirm support for Ukraine
UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron will be in Washington DC on Wednesday to reaffirm the unwavering support for Ukraine against the Russian invasion and the strength of Britain's relationship with the US.

This is Cameron's maiden visit to Washington DC since he assumed the post last month.
During this visit, the former prime minister will discuss the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and get humanitarian aid to those affected by the conflict in Gaza.
Both the countries, the UK and the US, can work together in enabling a long-term two-state solution that will allow Israelis and Palestinians to live together in peace, read an official statement by the foreign office.
Ahead of the visit, Cameron said, “The UK and the US are deeply bound by a shared mission to defend the values that provide security and prosperity for us all. That is why we remain unwavering in our support of Ukraine... We also stand united in the Middle East, working together to ensure long-term security and stability in the region, and in responding to the challenges posed by China.”
Cameron will hold talks with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and key Congressional figures on both sides of the House.
As per the UK foreign office, Cameron has announced a new winter humanitarian response package of £29 million for Ukraine and will bolster support with a further £7.75 million for humanitarian activities focusing on the needs of the most vulnerable in the country. These are part of Britain’s overall £127 million worth of humanitarian support to Ukraine and the region between 2023 and 2024.
This comes as Britain is set to target the defence manufacturers exporting equipment to Russia, through a series of sanctions.
Cameron made his first overseas visit as Foreign Secretary to Kyiv last month.
As per the statement, Britain's military, humanitarian, and economic support for Ukraine has reached £9.3 billion so far.
During his US visit, Cameron will also outline the UK's foreign policy priorities at a live event at the Aspen Security Forum.
Cameron served as UK prime minister from 2010 to 2016 and he was named for the top diplomatic post during the November 2023 Cabinet reshuffle by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
