A few months ago, the US mission to India reached and surpassed its goal to process one million non-immigrant visa applications in 2023.
In a race where people try out all possible ways to clear the visa interviews and still get rejected, a Navi Mumbai-based investment banker, named Mangesh Ghogre, was granted the ‘Einstein Visa’ for his 'extraordinary abilities'.
The Einstein visa is a nickname for employment-based, first-preference visas.
According to the US Citizenship and Immigration Services website, for this visa category one has to be a "non-citizen of extraordinary ability, are an outstanding professor or researcher, or are a certain multinational executive or manager."
“You must be able to demonstrate extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics through sustained national or international acclaim,” the website states.
