India is getting ready for its third moon mission. Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chief K Sivan says that Chandrayaan-3 has been approved by the government. He adds that the configuration will be similar to the previous lunar mission, Chandrayaan-2.
“One major announcement I want to make here officially is that the government has approved Chandrayaan-3. The project is now formed. The activity is going on very smoothly in Chandrayaan-3 and its configuration will be almost similar to Chandrayaan-2,” he said.
K Sivan also said preparations for the Gaganyaan mission are going on simultaneously with the Chandrayaan-3 mission.
Gaganyaan is an Indian crewed orbital spacecraft that is intended to send 3 astronauts to space for a minimum of seven days by 2022, as part of the Indian Human Spaceflight Programme.
