LinkedIn's latest Workplace Learning report sheds light on the evolving landscape for learning and development professionals and leaders, particularly in the era of artificial intelligence.

The report emphasises a significant shift in priorities, highlighting the importance of developing both people skills and technical/AI capabilities.
According to Karin Kimbrough, Chief Economist at LinkedIn, upskilling has become a crucial factor in attracting, retaining, and preparing talent for the future of work.
Artificial intelligence has rapidly transformed the global job market, with a notable 21 times increase in job listings seeking AI skills within the past year.
Karin Kimbrough points out that about 25% of the skills required for any occupation have changed globally, but in India, this figure stands at an even more substantial 30%. India is positioned at the forefront of this acceleration, driven primarily by technological advancements, especially in AI and generative AI. The pace of skill rotation is high, necessitating individuals to upskill swiftly, and Indian employers are proactively acknowledging and addressing this need.
Kimbrough emphasises the importance of organisations fostering a culture of learning to enable workforce agility. Investment in employee upskilling is crucial for companies to adapt to the evolving job market.
