The Indian Railways is targeting to combine the cost saving and improved passenger services in Vande Bharat trains by introducing its new Yatri Seva Anubandh (YSA) initiative. Under this newly introduced initiative, Indian Railways is going to roll out improved services and facilities for passengers in six Vande Bharat trains operating on different routes of Southern Railway.
The initiative primarily aims to offer a number of value-added services, along with a world-class travel experience to the passengers. The passengers can expect flight-like services onboard Vande Bharat trains, including a new infotainment system and wider menu options, among others.
The passengers can expect the following facilities under the YSA initiative of Indian Railways.
Each coach of the train will be allotted a separate housekeeping staff. They will be trained under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana or by the All India Institute of Local Self Government, New Delhi or any other government institute providing training in hospitality, housekeeping or related fields.
In the exclusive food menu, the passengers will be offered either the pre-paid onboard delivery or a la carte service. Additionally, to ensure the quality of service of food and beverages, the contractor will be deploying at least one person with a degree or qualification in hospitality, hotel management or catering services.
In addition to improving the passengers’ experience, the YSA initiative also aims to reduce the expenditure incurred by the Indian Railways on housekeeping through service integration and provide access to the Service Provider to revenue verticals such as advertising, according to an Economic Times report.

The sixth route of the Southern Railway is yet to be finalised. The Indian Railways is yet to officially disclose the launch of the YSA initiative.
