After a long wait, Indian Railways is finally going to begin the operation of the Patna-Howrah Vande Bharat Express train. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off nine Vande Bharat trains, including the Patna-Howrah Vande Bharat train, on September 24.
Among the nine Vande Bharat Express trains to be inaugurated by PM Modi, poll-bound Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh will get the maximum number of trains while Bihar will get one. Three of these semi-high-speed trains will also be launched in southern states, including Kerala, according to reports.
As per the East Central Railway, the Patna-Howrah Vande Bharat Express will be flagged off from Patna for Howrah at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The Patna-Howrah Vande Bharat Express train will cover a distance of 531 km from Patna to Howrah. The semi-high-speed train is expected to cover this distance in 6 hours and 30 minutes with an average speed of 82 kilometres per hour, while the maximum permitted speed is 130 km/h.
Patna-Howrah Vande Bharat Express will have two halts in its journey to the destination. These halts are in Asansol Junction (ASN) and Jasidih Junction (JSME).
This is going to be the second Vande Bharat Express train for Bihar after the Patna-Ranchi Vande Bharat, which was flagged off on June 27. The Patna-Howrah Vande Bharat Express went through two trial runs on the same route, on August 5 and August 12.
However, the confirmed time schedule and fares of the journey is yet to be announced.
Apart from the East Central Railway (ECR) zone’s Patna- Howrah Vande Bharat train, the Southern Railway is all prepared to inaugurate Kerala’s second Vande Bharat Express on September 24. This semi-high-speed train will operate between Kasaragod and Thiruvananthapuram via Alappuzha.
According to the reports, the Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram Vande Bharat Express will depart from Kasaragod at 7 a.m. and will reach the destination by 3:05 p.m. During its return journey, the train will start from Thiruvananthapuram at 4:05 p.m. and arrive at Kasaragod at 11:55 p.m. In this 8-hour journey, the train will have seven halts including Kannur, Kozhikode, Shoranur, Thrissur, Ernakulam South, Alappuzha and Kollam.
