"Prime Minister will also inaugurate a 100 TPD Integrated Waste Management Facility in South Goa. It has been designed for the scientific treatment of 60 TPD wet waste and 40 TPD dry waste, while also featuring a 500 KW solar power plant that generates surplus electricity," a press statement said on February 5.
The foundation stone will be laid for a new passenger ropeway connecting Panaji and Reis Magos, which is currently a 7-kilometre long drive that takes 25 minutes by car, according to Google Maps.
The PM will also lay the foundation stone for the construction of a 100 million litres a day water treatment plant in South Goa, and distribute appointment orders to 1,930 people who applied for government jobs under the Rozgar Mela.
The 35-year old Institute of Petroleum Safety, Health and Environment Management (IPSHEM) —  with an active campus since 1997 —  will be transformed into the ONGC Sea Survival Centre, reportedly, at a cost of ₹250 crore.
This will "advance the Indian sea survival training ecosystem to global standards" and train 10,000-15,000 people every year in simulated harsh weather conditions to help them survive real-life disasters, the press statement said.
