Yeh dil ‘mango’ more? Here’s how a Kanpur man serves the 'king of fruits' in his all-season jaggery

If you are a mango lover and tired of waiting for the seasonal fruit to arrive, you have reason to cheer. A Kanpur-based man has come up with a one-of-a-kind jaggery — made with mango pulp.

The best part is that people can get the taste of mango in the form of jaggery throughout the year. This special jaggery has been prepared by Kamaldeep Singh and is apparently receiving a positive response from people in several countries around the world.

In a chat with Local18, Singh shared that he has been in the business of exporting rice to several European nations for the past few years. However, his business was affected after a ban was imposed on the export of rice from the country.

After some time, Singh decided to come up with a unique product, hoping people would like it. He shared that the product was healthy and tasted good.

How he makes mango-flavoured jaggery

To make this special jaggery, Singh uses mango pulp along with sugarcane juice. Not surprisingly, the product tastes quite similar to a mango. He said the jaggery is completely organic and he does not add any chemicals in the mix.

Singh shared that Indians living abroad and foreigners are fond of his product. He added that he is receiving orders, particularly from cold countries in Europe as people there like to consume it throughout the year. In 2023, the mango jaggery was exported from Kanpur to several European countries, he said.

Singh said he plans to further expand this business to more countries around the world, besides targeting major Indian cities.
