Train and flight services in Delhi were disrupted on Friday, December 29, due to low visibility as dense fog engulfed the national capital region (NCR) and many cities in northern states. The residents of Delhi-NCR have been witnessing a dense layer of fog for the fourth consecutive day.
As many as 11 trains bound for Delhi were delayed while causing major inconvenience to the passengers, according to Northern Railway.
In a statement, the Chief Public Officer (CPRO) at Northern Railway, Deepak Kumar said, “A total of 11 trains are arriving late in the Delhi area on Friday.” Kumar also mentioned that these trains are running late by more than five hours, reported the Financial Express.
The CPRO of Northern Railways also suggested that passengers should check the live status of trains on the National Train Enquiry System (NTES).
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a dense fog alert warning for Delhi, Haryana and Chandigarh for another day.

Meanwhile, the news agency ANI shared visuals from New Delhi Railway Station showing the inconvenience faced by the commuters due to the disruption of the scheduled trains.

Here’s a full list of the 11 Delhi-bound Northern Railway trains that have been delayed on Friday, December 29.
Several trains have also been cancelled due to the low visibility. Additionally, flight operations at IGI International Airport in Delhi also suffered due to dense fog.

According to a News18 report, the IMD has predicted that the fog conditions at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport have shown a significant improvement this morning, with the lowest visibility remaining at 150 metres.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police on Wednesday shared a weather advisory for the national capital city while highlighting the expected dense fog in the city on Thursday and Friday.
As per the forecast by the Regional Meteorological Centre, Delhi, there will be dense to very dense fog at most places in the morning of December 28 & 29, 2023.

As per IMD’s data, the minimum temperature in the national capital area is likely to be around 7 degrees Celsius while the maximum is expected to hover around 21 degrees Celsius on Friday, December 29.
