Dense fog engulfs Delhi-NCR: 22 trains delayed, Check the full list here

Due to the foggy skies, around 22 Northern Railway trains bound to Delhi have been delayed while causing significant inconvenience to the passengers.

People, in Delhi-NCR, woke up to dense fog on Thursday, December 28. The low visibility has led to the disruption of several means of transportation including trains.

On the third consecutive day, around 22 Northern Railway trains which are bound to Delhi have been delayed while causing significant inconvenience to the passengers. According to India Meteorological Department (IMD) data, dense to very dense fog is likely to persist over Northwest India for the next 1-2 days while light, isolated rainfall is also expected over Northwest and Central India between December 31 to January 2.
In a statement, the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) at Northern Railway, Deepak Kumar said, “22 trains have arrived late in the Delhi area.” He also suggested the passengers check the live status of the trains for updates at the National Train Enquiry System (NTES).
Meanwhile, the news agency ANI shared visuals from New Delhi Railway Station which showed the passengers facing inconvenience due to the delay in scheduled time of trains caused by the dense fog.
Amongst the 22 Delhi-bound trains being delayed due to dense fog, it includes several Rajdhani Express trains coming from different parts of the country.

Besides the Northern Railway services’ disruption due to the dense fog, as many as 134 flights have also been facing major delays because of the low visibility in the foggy skies. The Delhi airport FIDS (Flight Information Display System) said, “Delhi Airport is facing delays affecting approximately 134 flights, both (domestic and international) arrivals and departures, due to dense fog,” ANI reported.
As per the monitored report, the visibility rate in Delhi’s Safdarjung has been recorded at 50 metres while in Palam it reads 25 metres on Thursday, December 28. Meanwhile, the minimum temperature has been marked at 6 degrees Celsius in the morning while as per IMD’s data, the maximum temperature is expected to hover at 22 degrees Celsius.
