Attention Navi Mumbai commuters! Atal Setu to remain closed for 14 hours on February 18
The Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link (MTHL), also known as the Atal Setu, will be temporarily closed to the public for about 14 hours on Sunday, February 18.

The trans-harbour link will remain out of access for commuters from 11 pm on Saturday, February 17, to 1 pm on Sunday, February 18. According to Navi Mumbai Police, the closure has been announced due to the L&T Sea Bridge Marathon 2024, which will pass through the sea link
Sharing more details regarding the marathon, Navi Mumbai Police informed the public that Atal Setu will remain closed from Saturday night till Sunday afternoon.
The trans-harbour link will remain closed for vehicular operations due to the marathon. The Mumbai Police in a notification has also shared alternative routes for commuters.
Alternate Routes for Commuters
According to the advisory, all heavy vehicles are prohibited from entering from Flamingo Garden (Bhakti Park) towards Mesant Road (Mumbai Port Trust) from 3 am to 1 am on Sunday, February 18.
However, the heavy vehicles traveling from Mankhurd Jakat Naka will be allowed to enter Mumbai as required in the given time. Also, police vehicles, fire brigade units, ambulances, and other essential service vehicles will be exempt from these traffic restrictions.
As per the advisory, vehicles coming from Uran to Atal Setu are advised to take alternate routes via Gavhan Phata, Uran Phata, and Vashi.
The vehicles travelling from Pune to Mumbai are suggested to take the faster route via the Yashwantrao Chavan Expressway (Mumbai- Pune Expressway). They can take further the Belapur and Vashi routes as per the destination.
Meanwhile, the light vehicles commuting from JNPT to Mumbai can take Gavhan Phata and Vashi Crick Bridge routes to reach Mumbai.
About L&T Marathon
The marathon is being organised by Larsen and Toubro, in collaboration with the MMRDA. It will disrupt the traffic on the Atal Setu Shivdi-Nhava Sheva Sea Link. The marathon will start at 4 am and end at noon on Sunday, February 18.
As many as 5,000 runners majorly from Mumbai have registered to run for the marathon. The participants of the marathon have the opportunity to choose amongst the four racing categories, starting with the signature 42 KM event at 5 am, half marathon at 6 am, 10 km run at 6:30 am, and 5 KM run at 6:45 am.
