As Ayodhya prepares to welcome high-profile guests and tourists for the Ram Mandir opening ceremony, ride-hailing app Uber has launched electric auto rickshaw services in the temple town. The ‘Pran-Pratishtha’ or consecration ceremony at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya will take place on January 22.

“We are excited to introduce our EV Auto service in Ayodhya. The event was flagged off by Hon. Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri @myogiadityanath. This marks a significant milestone in our commitment to providing seamless mobility solutions to tourists visiting the temple town," read a post on the official handle of Uber India on X.
The EV auto rickshaw services of the company will be available via its mobile app, like all of its other services. The auto-rickshaw services shall be made more affordable with a faster booking rate to accommodate a high number of rides, reports said.
Moreover, Uber is making plans to launch UberGo and Uber Intercity services in the temple town in the coming days, while its intercity option will be made available to Ayodhya from other cities in Uttar Pradesh.
“We are excited to expand our services to Ayodhya as it emerges on the travel map of millions. With this expansion, we are not only providing enhanced mobility options for tourists and pilgrims but also unlocking earning opportunities for many more in the region,” Uber India president Prabhjeet Singh was quoted as saying by Mint.
Preparations are in full swing for the consecration ceremony at the Ram Mandir. The Vedic rituals for the ceremony will start on Tuesday (January 16), a week before the main ceremony.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the grand event in Uttar Pradesh. Earlier, he announced a special 11-day 'anushthan' ahead of the ceremony.
Meanwhile, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has sent invitations to eminent personalities from all walks of life for the event.
