WhatsApp is testing an integrated AI chatbot in its latest beta version, aiming to enhance the user experience with various upcoming features. While functionalities like status checking within conversations are in the pipeline, the spotlight is on the integrated AI chatbot currently undergoing beta testing, Webetainfo reported.
Meta had previously announced its plans to incorporate an AI chatbot across its platforms, leveraging the advanced Llama 2 language model for natural and lifelike conversations. Collaborating with Microsoft Bing, the AI chatbot can provide answers through web searches.
In the most recent WhatsApp beta version (v2.23.24.26), the AI chatbot is prominently featured with a shortcut placed above the Chat button in the Chats tab. This shortcut allows users to easily launch the integrated AI chatbot, enabling them to perform various tasks within the application, per Webetainfo.
WABetaInfo has observed that Meta is finalising the development of its AI chatbot, and the feature is currently accessible to a select group of WhatsApp beta users. While currently limited to this specific set of beta users, it is anticipated that the feature will be widely available to all users in the near future. Participation in the beta programme is a prerequisite to experience the AI chatbot feature, although the programme is currently at full capacity.
