The announcement of this recent feature has been done weeks after reports emerged that WhatsApp is planning to make a number of other major changes to its platform. As per this feature, users were allowed to no longer deal with SMS two-factor authentication as they can unlock their account with PIN, facial or fingerprint recognition.
