Here's one for all the photography enthusiasts out there — smartphone-maker vivo has lifted the curtain on its latest X100 series, with special focus on the X100 Pro's imaging capabilities. According to vivo, the X100 Pro, comes with an array of features that promise to "redefine user expectations" in the world of smartphones.

The X100 Pro boasts a 6.78-inch 3D curved AMOLED FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, providing users with what vivo says will be an immersive visual experience. At the forefront, a 32MP front camera ensures crystal-clear selfies, but it is the rear camera setup that is expected to steal the show.

The main rear camera is a 50MP IMX989 sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), offering a 1-inch sensor size for enhanced image quality. Complementing it are a 50MP JN1 AF ultrawide camera and a 50MP OV64B portrait camera with a 4x 'Optical 100X Floating' telephoto lens, all backed by a ZEISS + V3 chip.
According to vivo, the ZEISS APO Floating Periscope telephoto lens comes with an f/2.5 aperture that "provides unparalleled image quality in 6-10x scenarios," ensuring clear pictures even in low-light conditions. The APO certification guarantees superior control over chromatic aberration, a rarity among smartphone lenses, vivo said.

Xtreme night video and Astro mode
The smartphone's Xtreme night video feature, supported by the vivo V3 chip, improves low-light videography with vibrant colours and low noise. The Astro mode, equipped with an AR (augmented reality) planetarium, leverages AI and geographical data to identify stars and constellations, offering a celestial photography experience for stargazers.
Dual flagship chip for Xtreme performance
Under the hood, the X100 Pro boasts the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 flagship platform with a flagship octa-core CPU and a powerful G720 GPU. The Pro Imaging chip V3, developed with a 6nm process, introduces features like 4K cinematic portrait video and 120Hz game frame rate interpolation.
Portrait mode in focus
For the first time in the X series, vivo said it has introduced ZEISS Multifocal Professional Photography mode, which purportedly allows users to capture professional portraits with focal lengths up to 100mm, providing flexibility and creative possibilities.
