Paytm is working on a face recognition tool that can unlock its payments application on a customer’s smartphone, reported The Economic Times.
The tool will ‘allow customers to pay at merchant outlets with the blink of an eye', the report said citing unnamed company executives.
“We have already started testing the face recognition tool among our employees. Once live, Paytm users will be able to log into the app by simply looking at the phone,” a senior Paytm executive was quoted as saying in the report.
The tool, which is being tested for the Google Android platform, could enhance the security of the app from phishing attacks, the report said.
