OnePlus 12 launched in India at ₹64,999: Here are all the details from the Smooth Beyond Belief event
Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus launched its 2024 flagship, the OnePlus 12, and its budget sibling, the OnePlus 12R at Tuesday's ‘Smooth Beyond Belief’ event.

Since the OnePlus 12 launch in China in December 2023, Indian fans have been eagerly waiting to get their hands on the device, especially with the success that the OnePlus 11 has had in the country.
Here is what they will get from this year’s OnePlus flagship.
The OnePlus 12 is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It features a 6.82-inch 3D AMOLED curved QHD+ display with an adaptive refresh rate of 1 to 120 Hz. The peak brightness on the display is 4,500 nits, making it the brightest display on any smartphone.
Up from the 8GB RAM last year, the OnePlus 12 has 12GB RAM in the base model and 16GB in the highest variant. The base storage has also been increased from the previous 128GB to 256GB this year, going up to 512GB. The configurations available are 12GB+256GB and 16GB+512GB.
The camera on the device is a 50MP main sensor, a 64MP telephoto lens and a 48MP ultra-wide shooter. The front camera is a 32MP shooter.
The smartphone packs a 5,400 mAh battery, which supports up to 100W fast charging and up to 50W of wireless charging. It can also be used to reverse charge other supported devices — smartphones, wearables, etc — wirelessly up to 10W.
It is also rated IP65 for water and dust resistance.
Pre-orders for OnePlus 12 will begin on January 23 and it will be available for sale starting January 30. It comes in two colours — Flowy Emerald and Silky Black — and is priced starting at ₹64,999.
The OnePlus 12R, also unveiled at the event, is powered by last year’s Qualcomm flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
It has a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a variable refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The peak brightness of the OnePlus 12R is also 4,500 nits.
Boasting 8GB and 16GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 128GB to 256GB, it comes in two configurations — 8GB+128GB and 16GB+256GB.
On the back, is a triple camera setup with a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro camera, while the selfie camera on the front is 16MP.
The battery on the OnePlus 12R is higher than that of the OnePlus 12 at 5,500 mAh, with the same 100W fast charging. However, it does not support wireless or reverse wireless charging.
Pre-orders for OnePlus 12R will begin today and will be available for sale starting February 6. It comes in Iron Gray and Cool Blue colours and is priced starting at ₹39,999.
Both smartphones will run on OxygenOS based on Android 14 out of the box.
Additionally, OnePlus introduced the OnePlus Buds 3 with its flagship numbered series. The TWS earbuds promise up to 44 hours of audio playback and a seven-hour playback in 10 minutes of charge. They also have “Smart Adaptive Noise Cancellation” and support Hi-Res Audio. They will be available starting February 6 and are priced at ₹5,499.
