Nothing Phone (2a) launches in India, available from March 12
After teasing it for weeks, consumer tech company Nothing finally lifted the wraps off the much-awaited Phone (2a). This is also the first time the company has held a live event for its product launch. All previous launches have been pre-recorded live streams by CEO and Co-Founder Carl Pei. The Phone 2(a) will be available on Flipkart from March 12 at an introductory price of ₹19,999.

The Phone (2a) is Nothing’s first “budget” smartphone aimed primarily at GenZ. The device features a 6.7-inch "flexible" FHD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The Phone 2(a) is a direct replacement of the Phone (1), hinting at a future in which Nothing sells its flagship smartphones alongside its "a" series.
Unlike its predecessors, which were powered by Snapdragon chipsets, the Phone (2a) runs on a custom MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro — the brand's first non-Snapdragon handset — for better performance and power consumption. For RAM, the smartphone offers two options — 8GB and 12GB — and 2GB of virtual RAM. It offers two storage choices too, at 128GB and 256GB.
For cameras, the Phone (2a) sports a dual setup on the back with two 50MP sensors and a 32MP shooter on the front for selfies and video calls.
The back of the device, while transparent like the Nothing Phone (1) and the Phone (2), is replaced with plastic this time instead of glass. The famous Glyph interface is also toned down on the device with only three LED strips around the horizontal dual-camera module — two curved strips on one side of the module, and a single vertical strip on the other.
The device packs a 5,000 mAh battery with fast charging support up to 45W. However, there is no wireless charging support.
Out of the box, the Phone (2a) will run on Android 14-based Nothing OS 2.5 — although the company issued a Day Zero 2.5.3 update  It will also offer up to three years of Android updates and up to four years of security updates.
The device is available in both black and white options and starts at 23,999 for the base 8GB+128GB variant, ₹25,999 for 8/256, and ₹27,999 for 12/256.
