Tech Mahindra isn't observing any signs of recovery in the telecom sector, but they remain optimistic that the worst may be over. Mohit Joshi, CEO and MD of Tech Mahindra, mentioned during the 2024 Mobile World Congress that their business faced contraction in the telecom domain.

He emphasised the significance of the operators they are associated with and elaborated on the challenges within the telecom industry, while also discussing his future vision. He said, “We are not seeing green shoots just now, but hopefully the worst is behind us.”
Discussing generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI), he emphasised AI's transformative potential and its substantial impact on client businesses. Particularly within the telecom sector, there is a notable shift in reshaping contact centres, increasing digital deflection, and reforming talent acquisition and training processes. Furthermore, there is a focus on enhancing developer productivity, implementing autonomous networks, and reducing network power consumption.
“So, a whole host of areas where people feel that Gen AI can help them reduce costs and become more productive and increase revenues,” he added.
