Consumer tech brand OnePlus has officially whipped the covers off a special edition of the OnePlus 12R. Dubbed the OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition, the smartphone, which comes in a single RAM/storage variant is priced at ₹10,000 higher than the vanilla edition, which is priced starting at ₹39,999.
The phone boasts an Electro Violet colour scheme with a violet back panel inspired by the appearance of Keqing, a character from the game. The matte glass back features silvery white feather motifs, a lightning stiletto design,” KEQING" etched at the base.
While the OnePlus 12R will put you back ₹45,999 for the 16GB/256GB variant, the Genshin Impact Edition will cost ₹49,999. However, the price bump is not for just slapping a new coat of Genshin Impact-themed paint on the device.
This special edition smartphone, designed for fans of the popular, eponymous game, offers a dedicated gaming experience and sports a fully customisable exterior, as well as OS — customisable system app icons, a themed charging animation and Always-On Display, as well as personalised power-on and fingerprint unlock animations. Furthermore, the special edition is tuned for the mobile Genshin Impact experience and comes with a collectable gift box to boot.
OnePlus calls it “the most comprehensively customised Genshin Impact Smartphone ever”.
Kinder Liu, OnePlus President and COO, said, "Our collaboration with HoYoverse (the game’s developer) (aims) to provide users with a seamless gateway to a wide gaming universe, emphasising superior graphics and performance without compromise.”
Visuals and Graphics
The OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition is powered by “HyperRendering” technology in OnePlus’ new Trinity Engine, which optimises the GPU and display to achieve realistic lighting effects, resulting in true-to-life HDR graphics. The phone features a 1.5K 1-120Hz ProXDR Display, fourth-generation LTPO, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and eye care features.
Gaming Experience
The phone leverages OnePlus’ HyperBoost technology and Trinity Engine tuning to accelerate game loading speeds, a touch response rate of 1,000 Hz for lag-free response, and improved RAM optimisation, which OnePlus says will allow the phone to run Genshin Impact and up to five other apps in the background for 72 hours.
Performance and Battery
The smartphone packs a 5,500 mAh battery — the same as the vanilla edition — and comes with 100W SUPERVOOC flash charging support, What sets this variant apart from the regular 12R is the new “Cryo-velocity Cooling System”, which is aimed at enhanced heat dissipation for a cooler coming experience.
The special edition, just like the vanilla edition, features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, dual speakers with Dolby Atmos, 16GB RAM, 256GB storage, and OxygenOS 14.
Price and Offers
The OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition will be available for purchase in India from March 19 on OnePlus’ online store, Amazon, and select first-party retail stores. OnePlus is offering an instant bank discount of ₹1,000 with OneCard and an exchange bonus of up to ₹4,000, no-cost EMI plans and the OnePlus Easy Upgrade programme.
