Huawei sub-brand Honor is set to launch its new phone, Honor Play, in India on Monday. The mid-range smartphone will be Amazon.in exclusive.
Honor Play will be unveiled in India at 11:45 am on August 6 at an event in New Delhi and The event will be streamed live via Honor’s official YouTube channel.
The phone was already launched in China as a gaming smartphone for CNY 1,999 (around Rs 20,100) for the 4GB model and 6GB RAM/64GB storage was priced at CNY 2,399 (roughly Rs 24,100). In India, the Honor Play will cost around Rs 20,000.
The Honor Play features a 6.3-inch FHD+ display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and notch on top. The phone is powered by the Kirin 970 chipset with AI capabilities. The phone also sports a new technology called as GPU Turbo, which Honor claims gives better performance while reducing battery consumption.
The phone comes with 64GB onboard storage paired with either 4GB/6GB RAM and it is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. Honor Play runs on Android 8.1 Oreo.
The phone sports a 16 MP + 2 MP dual AI camera on the rear and a 16 MP front camera with a f/2.2 aperture. Honor Play comes with a 3,750mAh battery and supports dual-SIM. The phone will be sold in two colours of black and blue.
