It has been a month since players like Samsung and Huawei have launched foldable smartphones and one of the biggest challenges at this point is screen durability. Both, Samsung's Galaxy Fold and Huawei's Mate X have plastic polymer screens that aren't as scratch-resistant or as strong as glass on smartphones.
Which is why the makers of Gorilla Glass are working on an ultrathin bendable glass for the next wave of foldable phones. The company plans to start the roll out a year from now, which makes us questions if users should invest in the first gen foldable at all?
