Cab aggregators lobby for 'pan-India intermediaries' status after centre amends Motor Vehicles Act
For the first time, the Narendra Modi government has recognised app-based taxi services like Ola and Uber as digital intermediaries and busy drawing up rules and guidelines to regulate them.
However, CNBC-TV18's Alisha Sachdev said that this treatment of aggregators as 'gateways' instead of platforms is not something these companies are thrilled with.
