ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG), a dominant brand in the gaming laptop arena, announced the launch of three new devices on Wednesday. The highlight of the announcement is the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16, the first ROG laptop featuring an OLED panel with variable refresh rate (VRR) support.
In addition to the Zephyrus G16, ASUS ROG introduced the refreshed Strix SCAR 16/SCAR 18 laptops and the ROG G22 gaming desktop.
According to ASUS, the Zephyrus G16 is a powerhouse, equipped with the latest AI-Ready Intel Core Ultra 9 processor coupled with NVIDIA RTX 4000 Series. Boasting an ultra-fast 0.2ms response time and a stunning 2.5K resolution 16-inch OLED panel, the G16 delivers immersive visuals. Moreover, its sleek design, weighing just 1.85kg, ensures portability without compromising on performance. The laptop also supports fast charging with a 90Wh battery that, as per ASUS, can reach 50% charge in under 30 minutes.
Design-wise, the Zephyrus G16 debuts the Slash Lighting array with a bold streak across the lid that can be customised as per convenience.
Meanwhile, the refreshed Strix Scar 16/Scar 18 is powered by the latest 14th-generation Intel Core i9 processor and NVIDIA RTX 4090 or RTX 4080 GPUs. With a 16-inch Nebula HDR Display, 240Hz refresh rate, and advanced cooling technologies, the Scar series promises an enhanced gaming experience. It also comes with a dedicated MUX switch with support for NVIDIA Advanced Optimus, to optimise the GPU. It can support up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM and up to 4TB of PCIe Gen4x4 storage.
Completing the trio is the ROG G22 gaming desktop, featuring an Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card. Its compact 10L chassis, coupled with Aura Sync RGB compatibility, ensures a visually stunning and immersive gaming setup.
Commenting on the launch, Arnold Su, Vice President of ASUS India's Consumer and Gaming PC division, expressed confidence in the new lineup's ability to redefine gaming experiences. “The newly launched Zephyrus G16 and Strix SCAR 16/SCAR 18 will empower pro gamers with a decisive edge and offer casual players an entirely new realm of gameplay experiences. We are confident that our newly launched devices will continue to enhance the gaming journey for consumers across India,” he said.
