Apple launches Vision Pro: CEO Tim Cook reveals his experience of trying the device first time

In the exclusive Vanity Fair interview, Cook mentioned that he liked one of the early versions of the device. Cook shared his experience of first time wearing a version of the Vision Pro a couple of years back, which was bulky. He termed the version as “a monster” of “an apparatus”.

The early version of the device had large fans on both sides and was connected with long extending wires stretched from another room, the Vanity Fair report mentioned.

Tim Cook considers the Vision Pro as the future of computing, entertainment, applications and much more. He also mentioned that this headset is going to bring change in the industry of technology.

After seeing the massive-sized early piece of the device, Cook mentions that he did not know how his engineers were going to merge all the aspects including the supercomputers, wires, and fans to the size of goggles. He said, “I’ve known for years we would get here.”

Cook added, “I didn’t know when, but I knew that we would arrive here,” the Vanity Fair article quoted.

A day before the launch, Tim Cook shared an announcement post on the microblogging platform X. He wrote, “Tomorrow morning, Apple Vision Pro is here!”

According to Apple, the device now weighs around 21.2 to 22.9 ounces, including a few factors such as using a solo or dual loop headband to head the gear. Vision Pro operates on a dual-chip configuration, combining Apple's M2 chip with the new R1 chip. It has been specifically designed to handle data from the device's numerous sensors, cameras, and microphones.
