Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has announced the soft-launch of JioMart.
According to officials, the new venture will be an aggregator where it will partner local grocers and equip them with points of sale (PoS) terminals, low-interest working capital, inventory management skills and GST compliance.
The initial test-market for the platform is Kalyan, Navi Mumbai and Thane in Maharashtra and this will be scaled up nationally soon. The site offers free home delivery, pre-registration discounts and options to buy more than 50,000 grocery products online.
WhatsApp users on Windows Phone OS or older Android OS may have to finally move to a modern device as the messaging service will stop working on older platforms after December 31, 2019.
In its official support blog, WhatsApp notes that it will no longer allow account creation or re-verification of existing accounts on Android versions 2.3.7 and older and iOS 8 and older. However, it will continue to work until February 1, 2020.
Giving in to a long-standing demand of mobile retailers, Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has assured that it will put an end to online exclusive launches in India as part of its 2020 strategy.
In a letter to its retail partners, Jerome Chen, chief executive officer, Vivo Mobiles India, said the company will ensure the simultaneous launch of the same product/variant at the same time and at the same price point across channels. The Vivo-branded products will have consistent price and offers across offline and online.
