Storyboard18 | India poised to overtake UK as top market for advertising giant WPP, says CEO Mark Read

WPP, the advertising industry's largest agency group with billions in revenue and a workforce of over 100,000 employees worldwide, has seen impressive performance in India in recent years. During his last conversation with Storyboard18, WPP CEO Mark Read expressed the possibility that India might surpass the UK to become one of their leading markets.

In a recent interview, Read mentioned that India currently stands as their fifth-largest market. Over the past 5 to 10 years, it has experienced a consistent compound growth rate of 20 percent, and in 2023, it is poised to be the fastest-growing market.

“So, I think we could double the size of the business here, in the next 5 years and that would take India, certainly by headcount over the size of the UK,” he said.
