Startup Street: Zerodha sets up non-profit organisation, Toothsi raises $5 million

Online brokerage platform Zerodha has set up a non-profit organisation, Rainmatter Foundation, that will work to support grassroots individuals, organisations, and companies working on solutions for climate change.

Online brokerage platform Zerodha has set up a non-profit organisation, Rainmatter Foundation, that will work to support grassroots individuals, organisations, and companies working on solutions for climate change.

In fact, Rainmatter Foundation will commit $100 million over the next few years to focus on afforestation, conservation education, and ecological restoration.
To know more about the foundation, the $100 million pledge, and the road ahead for Zerodha, CNBC-TV18 spoke to Nithin Kamath, founder, and CEO of Zerodha, and Sameer Shisodia, CEO of Rainmatter Foundation.
Jumbotail set out to digitise kirana stores with their wholesale online marketplace. This new retail platform and B2B marketplace for food and grocery products recently completed its $25 million fundraise with $14.2 million in series B3 round of funding led by VII Ventures.
This round comes in quick succession after $11 million series B2 round raised in October 2020, bringing the total funds raised by the company to $54 million. To know more about the road ahead for Jumbotail, Startup Street spoke to its co-founder Ashish Jhina.
Toothsi and its parent company AMPA Orthodontics Pvt Ltd has raised a series a round of $5 million from Think Investments - a San Francisco-based hedge fund, which has previously invested in Ascent Health, PharmEasy, Dream11, the family office of Nimesh Kampani of JM Financial, Siddharth Shah - Co-founder and CEO at API Holdings and Ramakant Sharma - co-founder and COO of Livspace.
