Startup Street: E-commerce companies likely to touch $7 billion in sales in festive sale, says Redseer

The festive season is near and e-tailing platforms are hoping for a big cheer. A Redseer report suggests that these platforms will touch USD 7 billion in sales during this festive month. That's an 84 percent jump from the same period last year.

The festive season is near and e-tailing platforms are hoping for a big cheer. A Redseer report suggests that these platforms will touch USD 7 billion in sales during this festive month. That's an 84 percent jump from the same period last year.

The main online festive sale events alone which are largely dominated by Flipkart’s ‘Big Billion Day’and Amazon’s ‘Great Indian Festival Sale’ are expected to touch USD 4 billion dollars in gross merchandise value; that's almost a 50 percent jump from last year.
To talk more about the trends that are likely to play out during this festive season, CNBC-TV18’s Mugdha Variyar caught up with Ujjwal Chaudhry, Associate Partner at Redseer.
