Meesho's festive boost: Five lakh seasonal job opportunities to fulfill growing demand
As the festive season approaches, e-commerce marketplace, Meesho, has unveiled plans to create nearly 500,000 seasonal job openings within its extensive seller and logistics network. This initiative marks a remarkable 50 percent surge compared to the seasonal employment generated by Meesho in the previous year.

The company said this move is a crucial step in meeting the escalating demand anticipated during the festive period. The objective is to significantly enhance the overall customer experience, aligning with Meesho's fundamental mission of empowering numerous small businesses and customers alike.
Sourabh Pandey, CXO of Fulfilment and Experience at Meesho, said, "The creation of these opportunities is focused on enhancing the overall customer experience during the festive season and is in line with Meesho's founding mission of empowering countless small businesses and customers. It serves as a clear testament to our steadfast commitment to elevating the festive season experience for all our stakeholders."
Moreover, Meesho is set to facilitate approximately 200,000 job openings through collaborations with third-party logistics entities such as Ecom Express, DTDC, Elastic Run, Loadshare, Delhivery, Shadowfax, and Xpressbees, among others. An impressive 60 percent of these employment prospects will be distributed across tier 3 and 4 regions, contributing to a more inclusive growth pattern across the country.
According to the company, these roles will primarily encompass first-mile and delivery associates responsible for tasks such as delivery picking, sorting, loading, unloading and return inspections.
In addition to this, the company also said that the sellers on the app are projected to hire over three lakh seasonal workers as part of their requirements for the festive season. These seasonal workers will assist Meesho's sellers in various capacities, including manufacturing, packaging, and sorting, to fulfil the rising customer demand.
“During the festive season, we are expecting an increase in the demand for our products on Meesho such as fancy jewellery and accessories as people across the country look to celebrate with their loved ones. To ensure that we are able to fully take advantage of this opportunity, we are investing in hiring seasonal workers who will help us with manufacturing, packaging and sorting for our products," said Sandeep and Rishi Singh, founders of Zevar House and a seller on Meesho.
