Former IndiGo president Aditya Ghosh joins Oyo Rooms as CEO, India and South Asia
Oyo Hotels on Thursday named former IndiGo president Aditya Ghosh as its new chief executive officer (CEO) for India and South Asia market with effect from December 1, 2018.

Ghosh quit IndiGo, India’s biggest airline,  abruptly in May. A lawyer by profession, he joined IndiGo as an advisor after its inception in 2006. He joined the board on May 30, 2007 and was named president in August 2008 at 32.
"I am certainly looking forward to this exciting new opportunity," he told CNBCTV18.com in a text message.
In his new role, Aditya Ghosh will be working towards delivering high-quality customer experience and sustained yields for asset owners, a statement by Oyo,  India’s largest and fastest-growing hotel chain, said.
"Today, we welcome Aditya Ghosh as the CEO for OYO Hotels, India and South Asia to lead the next wave of growth at OYO," Oyo said in Tweet.
Ghosh’s appointment comes at a time when Oyo is making efforts to invest in and attract world-class leadership with its focus to drive growth in India and China.
In September, it said it would raise $1 billion from existing investors such as Japan’s Softbank Group to expand its business in India and China, and foray into new foreign markets. Earlier that month, it said it will enter Britain’s budget accommodation market with a franchising and marketing strategy.
"We are extremely excited to welcome Aditya Ghosh to the OYO family as we gear up to write the next chapter of OYO growth story," said Ritesh Agarwal, founder and Group CEO, OYO Hotels.
