The primary school pupil from Harrow, Bodhana Sivanandan has created history in the chess world after winning the 1st women prize in the European Blitz Chess Championship with a remarkable 8.5/13 against a bunch of grandmasters in the European Blitz championship.

In the penultimate round, Sivanandan defeated an International Master (IM) England women’s coach Lorin D’Costa. The championship had a mammoth entry of 555 players, including 48 grandmasters (GMs) and 50 international masters (IMs).
In October, the eight year old prodigy made headlines by clinching the title of England's first world youth champion in 25 years winning triple crown - classical, rapid, and blitz.
Her outstanding result earned her a prize for the best woman player, prompting Romanian IM Irina Bulmaga to express her admiration on X formely kown as Twitter. "Unbelievable result by 8 yo girl- Bodhana, who held a draw in the last round of the European Blitz Championship to score 8,5p/ 13, winning the 1st prize among women ahead of me and a bunch of other experienced players! What a phenomenon she is!" she wrote, noting that Bodhana took the woman prize ahead of her.
