The Caribbean superstar smashed Sunrisers Hyderabad spinner Mayank Markande for three maximums in the 16th over of the match on Saturday.
Russell slog swept the first delivery that was within his range to send it over the ropes for the first big hit of the over. He doubled upon that by hammering a 102-meter-long maximum past deep mid-wicket.
Finally, the KKR star spotted another delivery within his range and didn't blink twice before depositing it within the stands to help the home side extract 18 runs out of that over. KKR won the match by 4 runs. Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers had put brakes on Sunrisers Hyderabad’s innings. Hyderabad manage only 18 runs from the last 2 overs. Heinrich Klaasen helped Hyderabad get some quick runs as he smacks 2 sixes in one over against Varun Chakaravarthy. But with required run rate 19, Kolkata were the favourite to win this game.
