Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) legend Virat Kohli is hoping to emulate the success scaled by the women's team of the franchise in the Women's Premier League (WPL) in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) that starts on March 22.
RCB defeated Delhi Capitals in a last-over thriller to clinch their maiden WPL title in only the second season of the tournament, whereas the men's team has been chasing the title for the past 16 years without any success.
"It was absolutely amazing. When they won it (WPL), we were watching. Hopefully, we can double it up with the trophies and that will be something truly special," Kohli said during the RCB Unbox Event in Bengaluru.

Kohli, who is the leading run getter in the tournament's history, said that it is a dream of his to feel what it is like to be a part of an IPL-winning unit. He assured that he will be bringing the best of his abilities and experience to the table to help the franchise really its lifelong objective. They had fallen short of qualifying to the playoffs in the final stages of the competition last year.
"That's a dream of mine to know what it feels like winning an IPL trophy. I will be here, be a part of the team that wins the trophy for the first time. I will try my very best with my abilities, my experience to be able to do that for the fans and the franchise," said Kohli.

He reiterated that his commitment to the RCB and the tendency to come out all guns blazing would remain undeterred in the coming campaign. He gave his promise to the fans that the entire team will be giving it their all, and then some more, to finally cross over the finishing line after ending up as the runners-up thrice so far.
"It is because of the way we play our cricket, our commitment and the passion that we saw over the years that we have such a fanbase. So, that's not going to change and that's my promise every year to the fans, to the team and to everyone involved," he added.
