Virat Kohli has become the fastest player to reach 20,000 international runs. breaking the record of jointly-held by Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara.

The India captain achieved the feat when he whipped his West Indies counterpart Jason Holder towards midwicket for a single to take his score to 37 in their Cricket World Cup clash at Old Trafford on Thursday.
Kohli achieved the feat in his 417th international innings, beating the record shared by two of the greatest cricketers of all time — Tendulkar and Lara. The legendary duo reached the landmark in their 453rd innings.
The 30-year-old has become the 12th cricketer to reach the milestone and only the third Indian after Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid to register 20,000 international runs. Tendulkar amassed 34,357 runs over his marathon career while Dravid finished with 24,208 runs.
Kohli has played 131 Test innings, 62 T20Is and his Manchester stint is 224th of his career.
The Indian captain has been on a stupendous run-scoring spree over the past few years and became the fastest player to 11,000 ODI runs during the course of his 77-run knock against Pakistan on 16 June.
