Star batter Virat Kohli will play against Chennai Super Kings in the season opener of the Indian Premier League 2024. Royal Challengers Bengaluru's lead batsman is just six runs away from touching yet another milestone in the limited-overs cricket.
On Friday, if Kohli scores six runs he will become the first batter in Indian history to score 12000 runs in T20s. The former Indian captain has scored 11,994 runs in 376 T20 innings.
CSK will be defending its title, whereas RCB remains in pursuit of the team's maiden championship win after 16 seasons of the tournament.
CSK has certain injury concerns to take care of though. New Zealand opener Devon Conway and Sri Lankan speedster Matheesha Pathirana have been ruled out of the tournament due to their respective injuries.
