Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to visit his parliamentary constituency Varanasi on Saturday, September 23. He will lay the foundation stone of an international cricket stadium in Ganjari and participate in other events during his one-day visit.

According to the PIB release, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of the International Cricket Stadium at around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The cricket stadium is a step towards fulfilling the vision of developing modern world-class sports infrastructure in the country. The stadium will be built on a 30-acre area in Ganjari with an estimated cost of Rs 450 crore.
As per the official reports, the stadium is expected to have a thematic architecture that is inspired by Lord Shiva. The roof covers of the stadium will have a crescent-shaped design and the seats will be designed in the lines of the steps at the ghats of the city. The stadium will be constructed with a capacity to accommodate 30,000 spectators.
Following the foundation stone laying ceremony, at around 3:15 p.m. PM Modi will reach the Rudraksh International Cooperation and Convention Centre to participate in the closing ceremony of Kashi Sansad Sanskritik Mahotsav 2023. The Mahotsav has witnessed the participation of over 37,000 contestants in 17 different disciplines, including singing, musical instrument playing, nukkad natak and dancing, among others. The competitions were held between September 17 and September 20.
After attending the closing ceremony of Kashi Sansad Sanskritik Mahotsav, PM Modi will inaugurate 16 Atal Awasiya Vidyalayas which are built across the state. Atal Awasiya Vidyalaya is a step taken with the objective of enhancing the quality of education. These schools are made exclusively for the children of labourers, construction workers and those who were orphaned due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Each Atal Residential School has been constructed in an area of 10 to 15 acres with well-equipped classrooms, sports grounds, convention areas and a hostel complex along with the residential areas for the staff. These residential schools are made to accommodate 1,000 students on each campus.
