French superstar Kylian Mbappe netted thrice as Paris Saint Germain (PSG) beat Montpelliar by 6-2 on Sunday to get their first Ligue 1 win in four games.

PSG has now secured a 12-point lead over Brest, securing 59 points from 26 matches. On the other hand, Montpellier is battling relegation, stuck at 26 points, just one above the danger zone.
PSG bagged a lead in the 14th minute, with Mbappe delivering a cross that was converted by Vitinha. The French captain found the back of the net eight minutes later, following a one-two with Randal Kolo Muani.

Montpellier edged back into the proceedings with Arnaud Nordin and Teji Savanier getting on the scoresheet for them.
The latter came through a spot-kick that was awarded to them after PSG custian Gianluigi Donnarumma fouled Tanguy Coulibaly inside the box.
Mbappe recovered the lead for PSG in the 50th minute. Lee Kang-in scored the fourth goal of the team in the 53rd minute, before Mbappe rounded off his hat-trick, which is his second in the current campaign of the French top-tier.
