Defending champions Chennai Super Kings will be facing Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opening match of the 2024 season of the Indian Premier League. The season will get underway on March 22 at Chennai's M. A. Chidambaram Stadium.
Last year CSK defeated Gujarat Titans in the final to lift their fifth IPL title and go level with Mumbai Indians as the most successful teams in the league's history.
The complete schedule of IPL is awaited. According to a post on X by Star Sports, the official broadcasters of the league, the the schedule from March 22 till April 7 has been finalized.

Accoding to Cricbuzz the full schedule to follow of the IPL will follow after the Election Commission of India announces the General Election dates. "Initially, we will announce the programme for the first 10-12 days," IPL chairman Arun Singh Dhumal said to the website.
