Defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) kick-started their IPL 2024 campaign in style as they beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by 6 wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Batting first RCB managed 173/6 in 20 overs on the back of Anuj Rawat's 48. Mustafizur Rahman picked 4 wickets for the five-time champions. In response, CSK reached the target in 18.4 overs. The run-chase was powered by CSK debutant Rachin Ravindra who scored a quickfire 37. Lower down the batting order Shivam Dube hit unbeaten 34.
The win takes CSK at the top of the points table.
