Indian leg spinner Ravi Bishoni achieved a major milestone of his career as he became the no.1 ranked T20I bowler in the world. Bishnoi went past Afghanistan's Rashid Khan in latest T20I rankings published by the International Cricket Council on Wednesday.
Bishnoi's assent to the top of the world rankings comes after a successful outing in the recently concluded T20i series against Australia that India won 4-1. The 23-year-old was claimed 9 wickets in 5 matches and was adjudged the Player of the Series for his bowling performance.
Not only is Bishnoi the number one ranked bowler in the T20I, but he is the only Indian player in the top-10 bowling rankings.
Elsewhere, Suryakumar Yadav, who captained India in the five-match series, continues to remain the number one ranked T20I batter in the world. Opening batter Ruturaj Gaikwad has slipped one place in the rankings and is now ranked seventh in the T20I rankings for the batters.
All-rounder Hardik Pandya, who continues to remain on the sidelines after getting injured during the World Cup, is the highest ranked Indian all-rounder. Pandya is ranked 3 in the ICC World rankings for all-rounders in T20I cricket behind Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan and Afghanistan's Mohammad Nabi.
