The Election Commission of India released the election dates of the Lok Sabha election 2024, which will conflict with the Indian Premier League during the same time of the year. Talking to Indian Express, BCCI secretary Jay Shah confirmed βComplete IPL will happen in India only. BCCI is working on the full schedule and will make it public soon".
This year the general elections are happening in seven phases, starting April 19 and concluding with results on June 4. This year, the IPL season will get underway on March 22 at Chennai's M. A. Chidambaram Stadium.
Last year CSK defeated Gujarat Titans in the final to lift their fifth IPL title and go level with Mumbai Indians as the most successful teams in the league's history.
The complete schedule of IPL is awaited. According to a post on X by Star Sports, the official broadcasters of the league, the schedule from March 22 to April 7 has been finalized.

βAs in the past, the BCCI will work closely with government and security agencies, following all necessary protocols and advisories related to the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections in India. Once the dates for the 18th Lok Sabha elections are announced, the Board will review and address any issues about the schedule of the first two weeks. Subsequently, the BCCI will work in tandem with local authorities to finalize the schedule for the remainder of the season, taking into account the polling dates,β Shah had said.
