BCCI declares Rishabh Pant fit to play IPL 2024

Pant leads the Delhi Capitals in the IPL and missed the entirety of the previous season due to his accident. He had to miss out of crucial international assignments like the World Test Championship (WTC) final in England as well as the whole of ICC Men's ODI World Cup that was held in the country in October-November last year.ย

BCCI declares Rishabh Pant fit to play IPL 2024
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially declared that wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is fit to return to competitive cricket, beginning from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 onwards.

Pant suffered a tragic car accident on December 31, 2022, after which the southpaw underwent an intense rehabilitation program under the watch of the BCCI as well as the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.
"After undergoing an extensive 14-month rehab and recovery process, following a life-threatening road mishap on December 30th, 2022,
@RishabhPant17 has now been declared fit as a wicket-keeper batter for the upcoming #TATA @IPL 2024 ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘," BCCI wrote on its official X handle.
Pant leads the Delhi Capitals in the IPL and missed the entirety of the previous season due to his accident.
He had to miss out of crucial international assignments like the World Test Championship (WTC) final in England as well as the whole of ICC Men's ODI World Cup that was held in the country in October-November last year.
Meanwhile, pacers Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Shami, who represent Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Gujarat Titans (GT) in the IPL, will miss out of the 2024 edition of the tournament.
"The fast bowler underwent surgery on February 23rd, 2024, on his left proximal quadriceps tendon. He is currently being monitored by the BCCI Medical Team and will resume rehab at the National Cricket Academy soon. He will not be able to take part in the upcoming TATA IPL 2024," BCCI wrote about Prasidh.

Pant and his return to competitive cricket sparks hope about the possibility of him playing the ICC Men's T20I World Cup that will be co-hosted by West Indies and the United States of America (USA) in June-July this year.
