BCCI arranged charter plane for R Ashwin's Chennai trip amid 3rd Test series: Reports
Former Indian coach Ravi Shastri revealed during the 3rd Test match commentary that BCCI secretary Jay Shah arranged a private charter plane for the off-spinner's round trip to Chennai due to a family emergency. BCCI made sure Ashwin could reach back home on time and be back the next day at the Tea break in Rajkot.

“BCCI secretary Jay Shah had arranged a charter plane for Ashwin’s trip home and back,” Shastri said while doing the commentary. Ashwin had to leave the team on the 2nd day of the 3rd Test match after he touched the 500 test wickets mark to attend his ailing mother.
“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is pleased to announce the return of Ravichandran Ashwin to the squad after a brief absence due to a family emergency. Ashwin had to temporarily withdraw from the squad after Day 2 of the 3rd Test in Rajkot to attend to a family emergency,” BCCI had said in a statement.
Ashwin withdrew from the third Test due to a family emergency. Whilst the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) asked for the player's privacy to be respected, its vice-president Rajeev Shukla revealed on X that the Rajasthan Royals (RR) star's mother has fallen sick. Shukla posted on X, "Wishing speedy recovery of mother of @ashwinravi99. He has to rush and leave Rajkot test to Chennai to be with his mother."
India hammered England by 434 runs to secure their biggest-ever Test win to bowl out the Three Lions for 122 to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series on Sunday. The Men in Blue controlled the game from the offset, taking a 126-run first innings lead.
Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed an unbeaten 214, Shubman Gill made 91 and debutant Sarfaraz Khan struck his second fifty. Jaiswal equalled Wasim Akram's record of hitting 12 sixes in a test innings and it followed his 209 in the second test in Visakhapatnam.
