It's raining deals in the ecommerce space. Flipkart which is hosting the Big Billion Sale expects more than double growth over the festive sale.

This time around, Flipkart is hoping to sell twice the amount it sold in the last year’s five-day festive sale.
In an exclusive interview to CNBC-TV18 after the Walmart deal, CEO of Flipkart Kalyan Krishnamurthy spoke about sales growth in smartphones, new categories and Big Billion Day sale.
“This year, we will have a clear market leadership in smartphones as we already have a 70 plus market share in that segment," said Krishnamurthy.
However, all other categories such as fashion, home, lifestyle products, beauty care, baby care and toys are seeing more than 100 percent growth, he said.
"I agree that smartphones remain a meaningful category for Flipkart and for ecommerce in India but all the other categories are experiencing very strong growth,” he added.
The big Billion days is a very unique phenomenon started by Flipkart and improvised by the company year after year, Krishnamurthy said.
"This is something which is very local to Indian customers. A lot more value has come to customers,” he said.
