Amazon Prime International on Wednesday said customer base in India is dynamic, quickly evolving and added that 35 percent of new members that joined around Prime Day were from tier II and tier III cities.

In an exclusive interview to CNBC-TV18, Jamil Ghani, vice president, said Indian customers are the world's most engaged customers for their digital content.
Speaking on Amazon Prime, Ghani said the program does not focus on competition, instead its focus is on its content.
According to Ghani, response for Amazon Prime has been incredible since we launched in 2016.
He said, "Week before Prime Day here in July 2018, we added more members to the programme than we had in any previous week in the history of Prime here in India. So, customers keep on telling us by becoming members that they see value in the programme."
"Amazon Prime's unlimited programme brings together the best of fast free shipping across the country, videos including some of the originals that continue to lead globally in terms of the engagement, advertisement free music, exclusive launches, deals and early access to our sales events," Ghani said.
