Russia, India, China agree on closer policy coordination to eradicate 'breeding grounds' of terrorism
In a major victory for India in its fight against terrorism, Russia and China on Wednesday agreed for closer policy coordination to eradicate 'breeding grounds' of terrorism.

Their commitment came at the conclusion of the Russia, India and China (RIC) Foreign Ministers' meeting in the east Chinese city of Wuzhen.
"We agreed to jointly combat all forms terrorism through closer policy coordination and practical cooperation. Especially important is to eradicate the breeding grounds of terrorism and extremism," Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said at the end meeting summing up the discussions on terrorism, especially in the backdrop of the February 14 Pulwama terrorist attack. "
The RIC ministers said that individual states play a central role in counter-terror efforts and terror groups cannot be aided in achieving geopolitical goals.
The Indian government said it does not wish to see a further escalation of the military situation with Pakistan and will continue to act with responsibility and restraint, a day after its warplanes killed terrorists when they struck a militant training camp inside its neighbour.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said the limited objective of Tuesday's pre-emptive strike inside Pakistan was to act decisively against the terrorist Jaish-e-Mohammad group to prevent another attack in India.
Forty Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed in a suicide attack by Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Muhammed (JeM) in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district on February 14, sparking outrage in the country.
Following the incident, India on Tuesday bombed and destroyed JeM's biggest training camp in Balakot in Pakistan's restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, about 80-km from the Line of Control (LoC) early Tuesday, killing a "very large number" of terrorists, trainers and senior commanders.
